Paint Party Friday Week 12

So, summer has hit here in full swing and I have been slacking big time on the blog. If I didn't get a chance to visit you this last time from PPF (Paint Party Friday), I'm so sorry and I'll be by this week for sure to see both installments.

This PPF, I'm showing my finished painting from last week which was from my May installment of Sisterhood of the Traveling Sketchbooks.

Next week the Farmer's Markets start and I'm seriously considering doing it again to sell some artwork. There are actually 3 in my vicinity of 15 minutes away each way. I'd better get my paintbrush fired up! If you're thinking what does artwork have to do with Farmer's Markets? then you are not aware of it apparently being a trend. To be fair, I am selling plants, too. I'm also trying to stick to artwork that is related to this type of theme this year. Hey, that may be a perfect place for my pastel peppers from a few weeks ago! They invite crafts people and artisans to help generate interest since most of the produce isn't available yet (in our area). Are there any of you that have good luck selling your artwork at a Farmer's Market? I've done it before with limited success. Click here on this Farmer's Market to see my set up for last year and the year before.  I plan to make my booth more attractive for sure cause it looks pretty lame. I'd love to here any of your tips, tricks or stories about Farmer's Markets and sprucing up my booth :)

Happy Friday Gang!

  1. Hi Jaime. I like the idea of selling your plants at the Farmer's Market. Here they don't allow just anyone to sell stuff. They have too many rules and regs. over here. I love your journal pages. Looking good. Happy PPF!

  2. I like your sketchbook spread. :-) Our farmers markets vary from town to town. Some have art, others don't. Right now it's mostly plants and crafts. Happy PPF.

  3. OMG Your deja vu was a big timely hint that... CRAPPOLA I LINKED MY WRONG PPF POST... so sorry, whoops, I'm an idiot, but hell, going from brush to shoving a mouse around, I mean anyone could get confused (well, me anyway) Oh you have done somethig wonderful & I was well on the way to making this comment all about me, sorry about that...

Love the sentiment in your journal, you sound like you are ready to find what was hidden somewhere inside, you sound like what I reckon comes with hindsight backed with energy, ready to show & sell your creations :) Do you have to do plants & flowers in your art to sell at the Farmers Markets I wonder, we have them at Noosa but I don't think they sell art, actually they are packing up usually if I decide to go, those dudes get up way to early :(

  6. good luck at the farmer's market and if you get any tips on selling or how to present your stall, please be sure to pass them on as i could use the help for my stall at the style fair in august. i'm at the point of chickening out of doing it cos i've no idea how to go about it!! i think your art will def brighten up a farmer's market-a great idea!

  7. Love the completed journal page. Hows about painting a nice big back drop or sign for your stall so it both stands out and shows off your art work. When I had my business selling dukkah and things in jars I painted my business name Attitude Foods in big bold letters along the front. ♥ Rosie

  8. I've already told you how much I love your journal spread, but it bears repeating; I LOVE this!
As for the market, I don't think I'm doing it this year, but my brother has been getting requests for my pies and cards...so who knows? But what I going to say is if you can, bring some cards too, they did really well for me! Maybe do some cards with your pepper paintings on them?
PPF Hugs to you, my sistah!

  10. Love the sketchbook page. As far as farmers markets go, ours here are having a bit of a problem as it has been so cold and wet nothing is really growing. We may not even get much of a growing season this year. Mostly just what folks have grown in greenhouses.

  15. Another great journal page!

Like Gloria we also have too many rules, regulations and hoops to jump through to get into the farmers market here. More have them have started up recently though, maybe I should check into it again.

    Have a great weekend!

I like it when I see arts and crafts at Farmer's markets (though I've rarely seen much that suits my style so I'm not much of a buyer). Good luck!!
