Sun series beginning

I've started sketching some ideas for a new sun series that I plan to paint. I like the way this sun's face turned out. I always find myself doodling suns, moons and stars on things while I wait. Just out of curiosity, how many of you like suns and would want suns or other celestial type subjects in your home for artwork? My mom got me into them and I've always loved them. She had them around her house and I treasure the ones I have from her home.

I made fish and veggies for dinner tonight and just look how pretty they came out. If you are trying to lose weight, this is such a low calorie meal that fills up your belly. Came together super quick, too. Here's what I got in there...

About a cup and a half of zuchinni, tomatoes, onions, peppers that I sauteed up in a teaspoon of olive oil with a fair sprinkling of Mrs. Dash Extra Spicy. Scrape all that on the plate. Using the same pan, I added a little non stick spray and then added 8 oz Tilapia (frozen, thawed) and a little more seasoning. Cook till it flakes with fork easily, just a few minutes turing once. That's it. Quick, yummy and uses up your garden veggies. You could add any veggie you like. I thought about mushrooms after the fact. Oh well, next time.

The total calories for this entire plate, which really could serve 2, is only 288. I ate almost all of it because I thought I was really hungry, but I couldn't eat it all.

I've lost 20 pounds since the first of May. I've been using My Fitness Pal which is a free program for your computer and/or your phone. It has made it so much easier. If you've got any weight to lose, I highly recommend it.

This makes me happy

These little jade plants make me happy. I just love the little chicken terra cotta pot, it was my mom's.

Here's a quick little doodle I did today while working on a project in the works.

Just wanted to share. I hope you are having a great weekend.

Being a Purple Man

Four Faces of The Tree - very old drawing from my sketch book
Things are in a weird state of being these days. I forget what day it is, I've been having crazy dreams and stuck in a bit of a funk. I dreamed this morning I was actually a man and I was in a large metal tub of dark purple dye. I knew that I had a mission and that I was an agent of some sort. There was another man in the room with me as I dyed my body but I couldn't see anything but his silhouette. Now strange dreams are nothing new for me, but I don't recall ever dreaming I was the opposite sex. I would lift my leg and arm and could hear the water trickle from them and see the deep purple liquid dripping. I was not above the tub as I am sometimes just an observer but I was in the correct perspective to be in the tub and looking up to this mystery man. The lights were dim and it was very light outside. I could see this from the cracks in the walls and small window behind the man. I was looking at my skin as it got darker and darker and I was pleased with the effect. I'm not sure where this came from because I was hooked on watching the bio channel last night and was watching the biography of Dolly Parton before I went to bed. I just love her.

Sometimes my dreams are definitely from something I had encountered or watched from the day but a lot of the time they are just off the wall. I actually go to bed hoping I'll have some wild dreams since I get a kick out of them. Although I don't like the dreams where I dream someone is trying to kill me. And sometimes I wake up freaking out about my son. I've had a few dreams where he was in danger and I'm extra cautious for a while. I do believe that our dreams are our sub-conscience mind mostly. But occasionally, I think something or someone comes to me in my dreams as a warning. I used to keep a dream journal when I was younger. As soon as I woke from the dream I wrote it down, as much as I could remember that is. Funny thing is sometimes something would happen later that day or even the next day that would jar a dream from my memory. Kinda like deja vu... which is another post for another day.

Enjoy your weekend friends.

Is this really Tuesday?

I am not getting a lot accomplished it seems. I did get a few practice sketches made today though, while I stayed with my mom. So here is a little peek of my Frankenstein. I am trying to get some good ideas down on paper for some ACEO's I'm hoping to have finished either by the time Funk in the City (an art show in Evansville, IN in a few weeks) is here or at least in time to offer on Etsy for Halloween. I think I'll end up doing what I usually do and that is just jump in head first and go for it. None of this practice nonsense that I'm attempting... ha ha
