1st Day of Pre-School

First Day of my baby's school!

Here is Asher running to get to the school doors where the teacher comes out to collect the kids.

Mixed feelings!

Well I made it through... the first day of Pre-School that is. Asher was so excited about going and I was excited to have a little time to myself. I wasn't sure how I'd do dropping him off but thought it would be fine, but low and behold here come the waterworks as my baby hugs me and yells "bye Mommy" and trots off with the other kids! All the way home, too. But once home and the hubs went to work, silence truly is golden. I had forgotten what it was like! Oh my I am going to adapt very quickly! haha  As a matter of fact this is the 2nd day of school (he only goes 3 days a week) and I am grinning ear to ear as I have the place to myself... granted only for 2 and a half hours but hey! Well, actually only about a hour and a half if you count driving time, but I am enjoying the silence. Next year for all day Kindergarten may be a different story!

  1. Oh sweet momma...this was me, last year. Lucien begins full day Kindergarten in two weeks. Yes, I cried....believe I wrote a post each day that entire first week. He cried when I'd leave and didn't want to go in the mornings...it was not good, heart wrenching. I'm NO GOOD at walking away from my crying child...never have been, but I had to do it.

So happy to know that your little man is the one who walked away first :)

I'm telling you, honey, that two hours felt golden to me in the first few weeks....and then, something happened...the two hours seemed more like ten minutes. Hope you enjoy every minute of your quiet house.

  2. Awwww...your little man is all grown up. It's good that he likes school, and he'll make a lot of new friends and be able to share so many new stories with you. :) Theresa

  3. Asher is adorable (everyone knows that), but I didn't realize how much he looks like you! I bet your baby pictures are very similar. Enjoy the new creative time!

Looks like your squeezin your baby so tight, it's like you want them to grow up, just not so fast-right!? I can't believe mine are starting kindergarten in less than a week. I'm so emotional. Thank you so much for your birthday wish to them, your a sweetheart! Yes, the tornado named Lily, Owen & Philip have most definatly left a path of distruction! LOL Hope this year goes by slowly for you. Lisa

  6. I remember having the same feelings as you when both of my kids started school. I have cried every year on the first day. I cried last year when my daughter started Kindergarten b/c she just got on the bus and away she went! No hugs - - - just. "See you later Mommy!" I cried b/c she was the last one to start the journey. We start school on Tues. and I now have a 3rd grader and a 1st grader. I'm sure I'll cry again b/c time is just zooming by.
Enjoy the time to yourself. You deserve it! I will miss my kids tremendously, but am in desperate need of time for me. Love your blog and thanks for your kind words about my tooth. It's going to be a looooong road. I have to wait 4 months until the next surgery. Ugh!
