My Art Studio

So here's pictures I took today and yesterday of my art studio that I'm sharing. This is actually as straightened up as I've had in a very long time. I actually got up there and did a little painting today! Yahooooo! Finally! Please notice above my drawing desk a new shelf that my hubby made for me. The section directly in front of my desk is great, but I've discovered that the section to the right I can't reach because I'm too short. So my idea of lining up little bottles of paint bit the dust.

Here's a before picture taken not too long ago. Maybe last summer.

Here are the white shelves which filled up quick even though I've been trying to edit them and keep only art supplies related stuff on them.

Here's the view from my studio window

Here's a favorite joke I've had forever and always posted up near my desk

Does anybody remember when I said I was moving my studio to another room and bought this $5 shelf/desk? Well I decided I couldn't leave the nice light in the original studio so I use my desk that I painted for getting Etsy orders filled up (when it's not so messy!).

I'm going to find a new spot for my Art Studio Mascot. I'll need to figure out a clever name for him. His eyes glow red if you click the button! Spooky! I love it...haha. Got him at Halloween. I'm loving the shadow he casts.

So here's a link back to my big ideas for my studio that of course changed. More scary before pictures included. I've noticed I don't have much of my own artwork on display. Probably cause it's here and there. But the neat little jester guy is from my friend Janette of ARt After Dark.

I hope you've enjoyed my little tour. I hope now to being showing lots of art coming from this new found clean surface!!!! It is an art studio after all.

Later Taters,

  2. I don't have a studio.. I share the "office" with my husband so I only have a desk and some shelves. Needless to say, it's a tragic sight ;)

  5. Looks like a great space Jaime! I feel like sometimes I send more time tidying up my work areas that getting any actual work done. Is that procrastination?!?!

I have been enjoying the book, I feel bad I have had it for such a long time but I have been really sick and I didn't want to get my germs on it so I am waiting for the antibiotics to kick in before I touch it again. Just call me Howard Hughes (He! He!) I don't want anyone to get this nasty bug.

    Have a lovely Thursday, T. :)

  8. What awesome idea to have a crow as a mascot! I might have to dig mine out of my halloween stuff and copy you!
Your studio is gorgeous- I love all the light and that shelf is wonderful even if you can't reach everything! One of these days, I'll have my own studio too.....for now, I'll just have to live vicariously through those of you who do!

  9. WOW, love your studio! The second picture looks more like mine.....I have a mascot in mine too, it's one of those wooden jointed bodies, and he gets moved to reflect my current obsessions - he's posing as a rock star atm.

  11. Hi Jaime, what a fantastic working space you have!!! I need some of those shelves and cupboards too as all my stuff is all over my desk at the moment and I'm left with this tiny little corner to work on. So nice to see where you get creative and what a gorgeous view too! :0)

  14. How fun it was to take a peek into your studio, Jaime! It's so nice and spacious. You should see my tiny little room! LOL Let's just say it gets very cramped when the pups decide they want to stay with mommy when she works. :) Theresa

  15. I love seeing peoples studios. I'm lusting over your great view. I'm in my basement and while I'm thankful to have a studio, it'd be nice to look out at nature and be inspired as you work! I also love that you showed the "messy" shot. I'm glad I'm not the only one that makes a mess. Someday I'll be brave enough to share my studio "after" a project.
