Well it's Friday and the frenzy is on! I have one week, ONE WEEK! to have everything ready for our show next Saturday and I am no where ready. I haven't been in a show since last spring, before we found out Mom had cancer so I am pretty nervous. Will I even remember how to assemble my elaborate display my husband made for me???? My partner just spews her poems like they are nothing and I struggle to keep up with her... I don't think I can and I'm just trying to do the best I can. She is so hilarious, yesterday she left me a voicemail while driving (Oprah would kill us) and as she was driving inspiration hit her so she called me to record the writing in case she forgot it before she could write it down. I just have to worry about keeping my end of the bargain up. There are not enough hours in the day! I've also been getting show applications sent to me for this years coming shows and have excitement and anxiety just thinking about how I will be received all over again. Oy.
So here is another creation of ours. My dad, who is an artist too, thinks the typeface is too hard to read. Any one else think that? I am using the pretty typeface as part of the design as well, but I do want it to be readable.
I am so excited for you and know you will be brilliant :) Sending good karma your way for much success! I can read typeface and love it...I think it "fits" and is really delicate.

I could read it right away no prob...just remember to breathe!!

The type definitely fits the photo and I could read it just fine! I love it! Not to go against your dad or anything! LOL. Maybe you need to be a woman? :)
ReplyDeleteYou'll do great!!

Nothing like the pre-show anxiety! All the last-minute goings-on, the final packing, and for me, the list-making so that I can remember everything. But once you get there and get set up, you'll have a great time, and I believe these pieces will be met with enthusiasm.
ReplyDeleteAs for the typeface, I could read it... but I think the F is the hardest letter to get since it's kind of off-kilter a bit. Perhaps for us older folks whose eyes are not quite as good as they used to be, that may be an issue. I think you should keep it because it's pretty and seems to fit right in, but maybe make it a half-point or so larger, if you can squeeze it in.
Hi Jaime! I LIKE the font. It's delicate and feminine, like the photograph itself. I think it works. If you have to tweak it, maybe just make it a wee bit larger? Perhaps that would work. I am sure your show will go fine! I usually like the adrenaline rush before a big event. I feed off the nervous energy. Then, I actually kind of relax the day of. My thoughts are with you...I think you'll do just fine!!!

I actually did find the typeface to be a bit difficult to read...
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your art show! I need to do one one of these days! You will get everything done, relax ... but not too much ;)
Thank you everyone for help, I appreciate all of your opinions and cheerleading :)
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely and I can read the typeface. Good luck on your show! You will be fine. It's the old "riding a bicycle" cliche. Once you get there and set up, everything will fall into place. I always have butterflies before a show....big ones! Excited about your new partner and adventure!
ReplyDeleteThe pic is beautiful, I love it! I can read the type too :)
ReplyDeleteI know the stress you are going through. It will all come together! You don't watch American Idol?! NO! hahaha
ReplyDeleteI love it and its always good to be a little nervous I think...keeps us charged up!!!! Good luck I know it will be wonderful...
